Favorite 2009 CD - 78violet Aly & AJ

My favorite CD for 2009 was 78violet, Aly and AJ. Terrific CD promised for both the summer and fall release. Let's see, it's been HOW many years since they toured? Funny how fast the public forgets you when you aren't touring - ask Britney.

ZZ Top Billy Gibbons
Is he 59 or 60 today?
Tweens owe much to him

Some sources list him as born in 1949, others 1950. Ah, to be one of the pillars of Rock N Roll. Tweens owe a lot to Gibbons who started his career more than 40 years ago.

Statutory rape charges for Taylor Swift
On her 20th birthday?

The guy who once slept with Linda Rondstadt, California Attorney General Jerry Brown, is pretty lax on enforcing statutory rape laws.

X17Online reports Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner spent the night together at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Taylor Lautner is 17! That makes it statutory rape under California law if it's true.

California penal code: 261.5. (a) Unlawful sexual intercourse is an act of sexual
intercourse accomplished with a person who is not the spouse of the
perpetrator, if the person is a minor.
For the purposes of this section, a "minor" is a person
under the age of 18 years and an "adult" is a person
who is at least 18 years of age.

This from AgeOfConsent.com:

WHY SO MUCH ATTENTION TO STATUTORY RAPE?

California has the highest teen birth rate in the U.S.

Every 8 minutes, a teenager in California has a baby.

3 of 4 births to High School girls are fathered by adults.

Men over 25 account for twice as many teen births as
boys under 18 years old.

The Average Age difference between the teen victim and the adult
defendant in cases filed by the District Attorney is 7years 9months.

Men over 20 are responsible for 5 times as many births among
junior high school girls.

In California almost 70% of teen births are fathered by adult men.

On an average California day 76 teenage girls, 17 & younger,
will give birth.

In Stanislaus County over 6% of teenage girls will give birth
in any given year.

In 1993 1,572 births in California were to mothers 14 years or younger.

The rate of sexually transmitted disease among teenage girls is
twice that of teenage boys.

This all translates into a tremendous drain in our welfare
and medical resources statewide.

AFDC and Medi-Cal costs for 1 teen pregnancy, birth and
1st year support is $10,000.

Total costs for teen births to those 17 and younger
in 1993 for California were $140 million.

WHAT CAN BE DONE?

Spread the word that all reports of statutory rape are being
evaluated and in appropriate cases charges are being filed.

You can report any knowledge of Statutory Rape to local
Law Enforcement or to the District
Attorney's Statutory Rape Vertical Prosecution Unit.

Trouble in Selena Gomez land
No publicity for Tempe show
Disney public relations machine atrocious

Selena Gomez plays Tempe Sunday, but you wouldn't know it if you lived in Arizona. Hollywood Records Matt Brandt decided to "pass" on allowing this site, in the top 5% of all blogs worldwide, into the show. To my knowledge, there was no radio or news print before the show, other than the usual short listings of upcoming shows.

My experience was seven calls to Disney. I got the Florida theme park, I got the Disney Anaheim theme park. When I asked for Hollywood Records, the operator transferred me to some guy in "records management," which maintains the files for Disney.

Finally got hold of Matt Brant, who I spoke to Nov. 13, and he said they were passing on publicity. Good luck, Selena. Shows why no Disney artists were in Billboard's Hot 100 for the decade and all the aspiring stars I speak with at conferences and conventions say they want to avoid Disney like the plague. I didn't understand until now.

Tween music not in decade top 20
Disney tops out at #44
Taylor Swift at #53 & 56
Where's Miley Cyrus?

Won't mention what band had the top CD for the 21st Century's first decade. It is too horrific and says volumes about how bad music was - almost as bad as the '90s.

Tween music didn't show up until Avril Lavigne hit #21 with Let Go. P!nk hit #38 with M!ssundazstood.

Disney didn't make the chart until #44 with, drum roll please, High School Musical - how fitting.

Taylor Swift, who's rise to power only really came in the last year, was #53 and #56 with
Fearless. She beat the original Tween queen Hilary Duff who came in at #80 with Metamorphosis. Britney Spears didn't crack until #81 with ...Baby One More Time.

Where's Miley? The first
Hannah Montana soundtrack came in at #84 (Volume 2 at #112). Way behind Gretchen Wilson who came in #57 with Here for the Party. Yet Cyrus' Breakout didn't even chart - even Joe did, but not Cyrus, unless I missed it. Also, may have missed it, but Hannah Montana nor Cyrus never charted on the hot singles (100) of the Aughts. I'm sure both Miley & Hilary are crying all the way to the bank about not being in decades Hot 100. Colbie Caillat made it!

Nick Jonas & Administration
Highest debut on Hot 100
Billboard charts #73
More proof end of Tween music

Guess who debuted highest on Billboard's Hot 100 chart today? It's the Jonas formerly known as Brother (take off on his backup band, The Administration, which were part of Prince's New Power Generation).

Here's some advice for Nick. Follow Eric Burdon, Greg Allman and others, like Prince, who had a host of backing bands. You've delved into country - how about a Willie Nelson & sort of thing. Nick Jonas & Taylor Swift, Nick Jonas & Gloriana. Okay, I'm done; that's the extent of knowledge of country stars unless you throw in Crystal Gale, Billy Ray Cyrus or Asleep at the Wheel.

Who I am reached #73 - and it was the highest debut on the Hot 100. Pitiful. End of Tween music.

Did John Mayer put another notch in his belt with Taylor Swift

Just discovered the lyrics to Superstar by Taylor Swift on the Platinum Edition of Fearless. She sang Forever and Always about Joe Jonas. Yet when I read Superstar Lyrics, I see John Mayer all over it. They performed together in May, 2009.

Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Aniston, The Pizza Girl from the Jonas Brothers TV show. Who hasn't this guy been with?

You played in bars, you play guitar
And I'm invisible and everyone knows who you are
And you'll never see, you sing me to sleep
Every night from the radio

So dim that spotlight, tell me things like
I can't take my eyes off of you
I'm no one special, just another wide-eyed girl
Who's desperately in love with you
Give me a photograph to hang on my wall
Superstar
Sweet, sweet superstar
