As predicted in Spring, Harry Potter #1
I Love You Beth Cooper still in play
Three-million dollars makes a WHOLE lot of difference. Opening on a Wednesday does too. That marketing gambit helped Harry Potter become the #1 movie (predicted here in February or early April, but that was a no-brainer) for 2009.
Star Trek realized $76.5-million its opening weekend and Harry Potter realized $79-5-million. Shows what a little creative marketing does.
Unbelievable news is I Love You Beth Cooper is still in the Top 10! Yes, it held onto the #10 spot, earning half its opening weekend of $5-million. I’d be happy with nearly $8-million! More than Disney’s made so far off its Hannah Montana Volume 3 soundtrack, released July 7.
