Zac and Vanessa at 2009 Oscars

Media people have so little creativity or imagination. Media gave short thrift to Zac and Vanessa at the 2009 Oscars.

Come on. You don’t see Errol Flynn or Carey Grant in Zac Efron? Vanessa was the pose-off queen. She was as hot as… Mila Kunis?

This is the 21st Century couple. Why is everyone clamoring over Brad and what’s her name, the couple with eight children? Miley wanted to meet them, but Vanessa had real class saying she wanted to meet Merrill Streep.

Vanessa Hudgens or Mila Kunis?

This wouldn't happen to Hannah Montana Miley Cyrus

Tiffany Giandina blew me off on Valentine’s Day. She was in my town and didn’t even call.

Sure, I crown her with accolades like vocal cords that sound like expensive church organ pipes, but she doesn’t call. Call her the “next big thing,” not even an email. Is she a diva in the making? Next time,Tiffany, call. She doesn’t even twitter me at phoenixrichard. Even the world’s best governor’s wife does that!

In the immortal words of some movie character, “how wued.”

I feel so sorry for her. Everyone’s expecting home-town girl Jordin Sparks and here’s this little waif filling up the arena with her powerful vocals.

The acoustics in this arena are the second worst in the U.S. The worst is the former Suns arena at the state fairgrounds. I once saw Bruce Springsteen at US Airways Center. Paid nearly $100 for the highest seat in the place. All I could hear was the bass. It was so strong I had to leave. Poor Tiffany.

Yet, I probably shouldn’t forgive her. She’s going to be in a Phoenix suburb called Los Angeles this weekend and she hasn’t called me for that one either. What’s up with that, Tiff? Too much homework?

Come to think of it, Aly nor AJ call when they’re in town. Brit did! We’ll have to do poolside plus a spring training ball game when you come in March, Brit. So we know who the tween divas are!

Why Aly & AJ are my faves

Next big thing

Half a decade ago, I remember walking past the Dodge Theater in downtown Phoenix. Hilary Duff was holding a 1 p.m. concert and it looked like every 8-years old in Arizona and Southern California was there. Not bad when tickets were $50 a piece.

Welcome to Tiffany Giardina; the next BIG thing. Forget Demi (Lovato) or Selena (Gomez). Giardina has a set of pipes that would challenge those expensive church organs.

She’s 15, just a bit younger than rock phenom Miley Cyrus. There are lots of similarities. What sets Cyrus apart from the High School Musical crowd is her ability to rock old school, and I mean Buddy Holly or Rick Nelson style. My daughter just called and said she had discovered a new group called the Everly Brothers and loved them. Okay. Now you see why Cyrus and Giardina are appealing to tweens. They continue a 60 years long tradition of drums, bass and beat.

The amazing thing is you can download the WHOLE new CD, “I’m No Angel,” on Amazon for $1.98. Jump at that one, parents!

The first time I heard Giardina was an online radio station. It was a song from “Another Cinderella Story.” Didn’t buy that CD, but I did get “We’ve Got Christmas.”

Hopefully Giardina’s promotion team will be wise enough to place her on a Disney show – they only last three years, so she’s at the right age for a “Phil of the Future”-type of gig.

Advising her team, release “Candy” right away! Recognition factor and great production. Will be #1 on Radio Disney in a week. For those who are smart enough to get the CD and think “Lollipop” sounds familiar, think one-hit-wonder. I believe it is the same as “My Boy Lollipop” done in 1964 (year of The Beatles) by Millie Small (Millie, not Miley – jeez, does history repeat or what).

Helping all tween parents save $$$$

Think twice before you purchase that Hannah Montana Movie soundtrack

Miley's done it, Jonas Bros., Rhianna and Aly & AJ did it on two CDs, and you can bet this CD will do it - the deluxe version two months after this release.

Do you want to spend $15 bucks for your tweens, and then in June, 2009, another $20 for the deluxe version? That's $35. That's what I just bought a $180 Perry Ellis suit jacket for when it was on sale. SHOP SMART. Wait for the deluxe version, with the 2 videos included.

Hitting the showers for Heroes Hayden Panettiere

8 to 80, guys all over are taking two or three cold showers before viewing Hayden Panettiere's video “Wake Up Call.” Soft porn! Great way to create sex addicted tween boys. Ironically, the king of porn, John Mayall, had a CD titled Wake Up Call.
