Ashley Tisdale does Arizona
Twilight concert in the Sonoran desert

As far as I am aware, Ashley Tisdale made her first Arizona performance at the Scottsdale Fashion Mall Oct. 22, 2009, performing two songs on stage for the first time in the U.S. (got a call, she performed in High School Musical stage show Dec. 3, 2006 in Glendale, Ariz.).

Believe it was Crank It Up and Delete and Rewind. Hey, I was having too much fun to pay attention. You should have seen the little seven years old girl in her mother’s arms to the left of me. Her first concert and she had a smile that would make the Cheshire cat in Alice In Wonderland look like the Mona Lisa.

Ashley Tisdale does something Britney Spears, Honor Society (at least when I saw them) and a host of others don’t do – actually sing in concert; and she does it excellently. Better than the CD, I believe.

It is odd seeing that little girl, Maddie Fitzgerald, who you grew up watching on Zack & Cody being sexy as hell and shaking her ass. She looks about 13, but she’s going on 25. Love the lipstick, though, Ashley. Really stands out.

She performed at 5 p.m. and the sun didn’t go down and let the stage lights have their effect until the last three songs.

I have one big suggestion. Tisdale does mall shows like this, and I believe she wouldn’t meet because this was the blog that announced her Grove in Los Angeles show 20 days before she had a chance. Tisdale needs to graduate from malls to concert halls. She’s a big girl now and needs to become more Colbie Caillat or Taylor Swift like.

She holds her own with a sophisticated band and competes with a backup singer exuding sex appeal and charm galore. She needs to start seriously touring; watch out Tim McGraw.

At one point she was silhouetted against palm trees at twilight and it made me realize why I live in the Sonoran desert. Forget Hawaii or those fabulous vacation places, no match for a concert at dusk in 75 degree weather with Ashley Tisdale on stage.

Never got to interview her, nor present the Building the Band Brand: Becoming Famous in the 21st Century award, which she was the first winner of. Microsoft said it was their building, take a hike; yet they were cordial enough to get me into the concert, but not the store where Tisdale was signing autographs. Personally, I still believe Tisdale holds a grudge about the Grove announcement. She hasn’t returned tweets even. Microsoft probably didn’t have a say in the matter. Doin’ as they’re told.

Hope you enjoyed your shopping soorie the day before your show, Ms. Tisdale. You were in the second largest mall in the U.S where Gena Lee Nowlins, Jenna Jaimeson, the porn star, and Britney shop on a regular basis. Even Mohammad Ali, the champ, shops there!

Sorry for partial and lousy audio on video. Who knows? That’s what happens when you use a cheap camera and drop it during the show.
