Tween music not in decade top 20
Disney tops out at #44
Taylor Swift at #53 & 56
Where's Miley Cyrus?

Won't mention what band had the top CD for the 21st Century's first decade. It is too horrific and says volumes about how bad music was - almost as bad as the '90s.

Tween music didn't show up until Avril Lavigne hit #21 with Let Go. P!nk hit #38 with M!ssundazstood.

Disney didn't make the chart until #44 with, drum roll please, High School Musical - how fitting.

Taylor Swift, who's rise to power only really came in the last year, was #53 and #56 with
Fearless. She beat the original Tween queen Hilary Duff who came in at #80 with Metamorphosis. Britney Spears didn't crack until #81 with ...Baby One More Time.

Where's Miley? The first
Hannah Montana soundtrack came in at #84 (Volume 2 at #112). Way behind Gretchen Wilson who came in #57 with Here for the Party. Yet Cyrus' Breakout didn't even chart - even Joe did, but not Cyrus, unless I missed it. Also, may have missed it, but Hannah Montana nor Cyrus never charted on the hot singles (100) of the Aughts. I'm sure both Miley & Hilary are crying all the way to the bank about not being in decades Hot 100. Colbie Caillat made it!

Miley Cyrus Twitter musical preference

Miley Cyrus has admitted on Twitter her musical preference is emo. For the past few days I've surrounded myself with Joe Satriani's Anthology CD. I invite Ms. Cyrus to add this to her iPod. She'll forget those emo bands in a moment.

Wouldn't it be fantastic to see Hollywood Records evolve and add Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Eddie Van Halen and Dweezil Zappa as backing musicians for groups like 78violet (Aly & AJ) or Demi Lovato? You'd have the world's top four living guitar players. Come on, argue with that on comments!

Recently I read a music review, possibly from Philadelphia, that Ashley Tisdale was channeling Kelly Clarkson. It wasn't until I heard the first two songs of Here We Go Again that I believed in that review. I love Lovato's voice, but that review and the first two songs ruined the whole CD for me. That's why Hollywood Records needs to evolve. Its Hilary Duff formula - which includes High School Musical, Aly & AJ to Lovato - is growing stale.

So it is my dream (is that a Blue Dream?) to combine the slick production of Disney with the world's greatest rock musicians. Maybe even Pete Townshend! Let me produce the next generation of Tween Music. It will change how you listen to music forever - much like Jimi Hendrix did!

Is the whole world going Spanish?
High School Musical

Since DTV happened, all I can get is one independent TV station and three Spanish language. This morning I watched Plaza Sesamo and cartoons in Spanish, plus a religious service. Now, my brain is even hearing High School Musical songs in Spanish.

Here she is wearing one of Vanessa Hudgens' outfits, but she's wearing shorts, something Ms. Hudgens doesn't.

Hilary Duff dumped by Disney

Hilary Duff has released six CDs, self titled, Metamorphosis, Santa Claus Lane, and Dignity. Then, a greatest hits called Most Wanted in 2005. So how does Disney’s Hollywood Records dump its original tween darling? How about a best of instead of a greatest hits. 2004 seems so long ago for the end of Lizzie McGuire.

Her career is on a high. She has four movies planned. You remember how popular her last movie, released May, 2008, was – “War, Inc.” Probably outsold High School Musical 3. What do you mean you never heard of it?

What do Hilary Duff, Lindsay Lohan and the U.S. economy have in common in 2008? Their futures look bleak. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out – are you listening Miley Cyrus?
