Two weeks ago Disney star Aly Michalka tweeted "It's already been a great 2014 but it's an even better one now #happy #wedidit"

Tonight, she tweeted "Driving home...back to the real world now but happy to know our secret little spots are hidden in Gods nature." Looks like she's married.

She also had this tweet within hours of above "Couldn't be more thankful for a wonderful getaway to my favorite place with my favorite person"

Former Aly & AJ, Disney, Hellcats star Aly Michalka engaged (or married?)

Remember the days when (has-been) stars used Twitter to make announcements? Seems it has moved to Instagram.

January 18, Aly (Alyson) Michalka, former (has-been) Aly & AJ, Phil of the Future, Hellcats star (now a bit role on 2-1/2 Men), announced her engagement "It's already been a great 2014 but it's an even better one now #happy #wedidit"

Her sister, AJ, wearing a brunette wig that she looks stunning in, posted a photo with "Still going to marry your sister" tagged on a wall.

Ummmm.... Aly & AJ Michalka 78Violet

Jonas Brothers are expected to announce a new CD and 2012 tour on Ryan Seacrest's Los Angeles radio show Aug. 16, 2012.

Right.

Same deal as 78violet Aly and AJ CD and tour. Last century this stuff was called "vapor-ware." You're never going to see it.

Brenda Song, Aly Michalk and AJ Michalka were out Saturday night / Sunday morning celebrating Song's 24th birthday (27th) and Aly's 23rd (today, 25).

Honestly, doesn't it look like Song has a baby bump?

Can you name these Disney teen stars? Hint - not a one had a hit song chart in 2011

Aly Michalka breaks up 78violet over Hellcats When does Ashley Tisdale get to sing?

Anyone who thinks 78violet has a future, forget 'bout it. If they were a functioning unit, AJ Michalka would have been in this video.

Question is, will Ashley Tisdale get a similar reprise on Hellcats or are the show's honchos focusing on Alyson Michalka?

You know you're a nobody If you haven't seen Last Song Movie By tomorrow morning

In 1942 Aaron Copeland wrote Fanfare for the Common Man. Emerson, Lake and Palmer covered it 25 years later.

The Last Song movie opens Wednesday, but it premiers tonight at Los Angeles' ArcLight Hollywood Cinema. Right now watching Miley at premiere via KABC's On The Red Carpet.

It may be Alyson Michalka's 21st birthday, but the person she had a facial with on Tuesday is going and neither of the Michalka sisters were invited. They sit watching Repo Man while Ashley Tisdale is enjoying the premier. Both Tisdale and birthday girl Michalka are filming the Hellcats movie, too.

ashleytisdale On my way to the last song premiere!!! Can't wait to see it!

78violet At The Tranquility Tea Room with Aly! We've been going to Tea Rooms ever since we were little! Xo AJ http://tweetphoto.com/15799161

78violet Celebrating Aly turning 21! I'm hosting a big bash for her on April 2nd, might have a lil more than just tea at that one ;) Xo AJ

78violet Of course what movie would we be going to after tea? Not the obvious, Alice In Wonderland....REPO MEN!!!! Xo AJ

There were even online contests to see the premier. Since I sit in the Sonoran Desert and haven't seen Alice in Wonder, Repo Man, The Runaways; you know I'm not one of the blessed people going to The Last Song premiere. Fanfare to the Common Man, indeed.

Aly and AJ 78violet Dumped by record label

-->

Rather than sending out a Twitter or Facebook comment, 78violet Aly & AJ sent this email, we can tell you we’re no longer a part of Hollywood Records. What does that mean exactly??? Now we have the freedom to take 78violet in the direction we want. We’re writing and recording new music and are really excited on what’s next.

They added, We’re going to be taking the Aly & AJ website down. That pretty much means they were dumped by their label, Hollywood Records and their CDs are headed to the cutout bin.

Finalizing the fiasco, they added, As for the album we recorded for Hollywood, honestly, we don’t foresee it ever being released. But…we are continuing to write and record new songs that we hope you’ll love as much as we do. That pretty much means Hollywood saw no commercial value to the stuff they've done since their last album, Insomniatics (released in 2007 - three years ago).

A year ago I blogged Whatever happened to Aly & AJ. The advice was to tour. In the forthcoming book, Building the Band Brand: Becoming famous in the 21st Century, there's a whole chapter (one of the longest in the book) on the need to tour.

Another point that may have contributed to the demise of 78violet’s association with Hollywood was a lack of focus (goal setting, again in the book). Like so many girls who want to be musicians, they go off on an acting tangent and forget the music (seems to have happened to Vampire Diaries Malese Jow, plus many more that won’t be mentioned. Jow is realizing more success in acting than she was with music, but I love her voice.).

Best of luck to Aly and AJ for several years you were my favs. On stage, you were in the David Bowie quality. Going to miss you.
