Newcomer Ke$ha topples Taylor Swift
Ranking twice as high in 2010 albums

It may seem far-fetched and incredible, but for the first half of 2010, Ke$ha has outsold Taylor Swift in albums.

Ke$ha stands at 813,000 units sold according to Billboard, while Swift has sold 587,000. Billboard ranks Ke$ha at #8 and Swift at #16.

We won't go into the fact that Lady Antebellum and Justin Bieber top the first half of the year charts. My mind is not ready to comprehend why or how?

Ke$ha Tik Tok dethroned by
Black Eyed Peas
Sets no records

Following nine weeks at #1 on Billboard's hot singles chart, Ke$ha's Tik Tok fell to #2, being toppled by Imma Be by Black Eyed Peas.

Ke$ha fell short of setting any records.

This is the third #1 from Black Eyed Peas' The E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies). They are also following Building the Band Brand: Becoming famous in the 21st Century advice and touring, touring, touring.

From The E.N.D., I Gotta Feeling is tied for #2 all time #1 length (14 weeks) with Mariah Carey's One Sweet Day. Boom Boom Pow also came in second for number of weeks on the 2009 top singles chart, behind I Gotta Feeling.

Yet, Ke$ha so far holds the longest selling #1 song of 2010, holding on for nine weeks.

Ke$ha longest #1 song for 2010 - Tik Tok

Two more weeks and Ke$ha will be the longest charting debut female singer in history. She's on her 9th week at #1 with Tik Tok. If she stays on top of the heap next week, she ties Debbie Boone's 10 week record for debut female vocalist with You Light Up My Life from 1977.

Question is, will she be dethroned by We Are The World? Lady Antebellum came close last week
, but fell to #6 while Ke$ha maintains her top slot. We Are The World debuts at #2.

Ke$ha stays at #1
Today Taylor Swift continues fall

Ke$ha reigns supreme this week at #1 with Tik Tok. She's also positioned herself with Blah, Blah, Blah - a smart move.

Will Lady Antebellum knock her off the throne next week?

Taylor Swift's Today was a Fairy Tale continues its downward descent, going from #22 to #39. Fearless, the single, came back into the charts at #99.

After three and a third years on the chart, Swift's self-titled album jumps three spots to #62 - far from the bottom of the 200. It will end up one of the longest albums on the charts.

Swift's Fearless (album) also jumped from #13 to #7 after one and a third years on the charts. Could her role in Valentine's Day movie be effecting the charts?

Ke$ha still #1 Tik Tok
Taylor Swift Today was a Fairytale
Takes a landslide

Ke$ha remains king of the hill, #1 on Billboard's Hot 100 again (Billboard says 17 weeks, but other reports are seven weeks). Taylor Swift's Today was a Fairytale, which I predicted would dethrone Tik Tok, tumbled all the way to #22 its second week. Could Taylor Swift be pulling a Miley Cyrus? Popularity waning?

Told you so "Today Was a Fairytale"
Debuts at #2 Hot 100
Ke$ha #1 Tik Tok
Hope for Haiti may halt both

Last week, said Taylor Swift's Today Was a Fairytale from Valentine's Day soundtrack was poised to knock Ke$ha off the top spot. Ke$ha retains it with Tik Tok, but Swift is #2 with nearly half-a-million downloads. My prediction may not come true, though. Hope for Haiti sales may knock both Swift and Ke$ha into the also ran slot.

Ke$ha next big thing
Dies rapidly as Vampire Weekend
Tops Billboard charts tomorrow
Taylor Swift closing in on singles chart

Ke$ha, lauded by the media as the next big thing, Gaga Jr., spent one week at the top of Billboard's top 200 charts. Even American Idiot winners David Archuleta and David Cook made it to the #2 spot on the top 200.

Ke$ha falls to #3, selling about 150,000 total CDs - which isn't bad and beat Ashley Tisdale's two week 30,000 for Guilty Pleasure five fold.

Not sure if Ke$ha will remain at the top of the singles chart, but Taylor Swift's Today was a Fairytale will take #1 single within the next three weeks - as soon as radio stations start playing it.

Vampire Weekend is an Owl City sound-alike. Listen to Jack's Mannequin or Something Corporate for better talent in this arena.

Taylor Swift continues in recording studio
Anyone have name of next CD?
Tour kicks off Feb. 4

Tween's reigning queen Taylor Swift continues in the studio, as announced here at the end of November. Here's today's Twit, taylorswift13 Studio-ness with all the same boys who played on Fearless. Home-made cupcakes were brought. Awkward fist-pumps happened. Onward!

Taylor kicks off her 2010 tour in Brisbane, Australia on Feb. 4. She's scheduled 40 USA dates, but sorry, those sold out in less than 10 minutes.

Wonder what Ke$ha will do when she tours? How fast will she sell out? Miley who? Perfect tour would be Lady GaGa, Katy Perry and Ke$ha. Any wise promoters out there?
