All the latest news about music for Americans aged 8 to 18. Thank you for following and placing this site in top 5% of all blogs worldwide (at one time in history). Featuring mostly has-been Disney stars from the 21st Century's first decade's final years.
From Super Sweet 16, Jump In, Hannah Montana to one of the sweetest voices on MySpace, happy 19th Ms. Knowles.
A personal theory is that one TV show begets another. The Lucy Show=Laverne & Shirley. Barney Miller became Night Court. Taxi became Cheers and The Monkees became Jonas.
Recently I was struck by the roles on Hannah Montana. Emily Osment plays the far out Emily and her alter ego, Lola. Shanica Knowles plays the rich and spoiled Amber. It hit me. Fifty years ago there was a show called The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis. Dobie had a kooky friend, Maynard G. Krebs. Future Bonnie and Clyde star Warren Beatty played the rich and spoiled Milton Armitage. Tuesday Welds also appeared on Dobie Gillis as his love interest, the role played by Nick Jonas, oops, I mean Cody Linley as Jake Ryan.
Bob Denver became Gilligan, Welds and Beatty found fame. Do the stars on Hannah Montana realize what their futures hold for them? Mitchel Musso is taking advantage of his situation by launching a music career.
Want you to bookmark this page, go to IMDB for Dobie Gillis, then tell me what happened to the stars of Hannah Montana in 2019. Bet they’re all stars, none are doing drugs as plagued sitcom stars from the ‘70s and ‘80s. Funny how Jonas Brothers TV show is replicating The Monkees of the ‘60s. Have they ushered in a similar era in entertainment?
If TV is listening, I have a fantastic idea for a situation comedy. A right wing bigot – Let’s call him Dick Cheney – has his daughter’s homosexual lover move in with the family. The lover keeps calling Cheney “meat head.” We call it All in The Second Family. Since Jonas ushered in The Monkees era, this will be the next step for a winning TV show.
Would like to thank all who visited this site Friday, June 12, 2009. You blew this site to the upper echelon of the Internet with the most visitors in one day. Seems everyone is clamoring to learn about Vanessa Hudgens, Doogie Howser and Mary Kate Olsen in “Beastly,” or they all agree Hudgen’s should be in the 23rd Bond movie as the Bond girl!
Also contributing to the site’s success was Miley Cyrus – those words are golden. Just say the words and everything turns to gold. Ask Shanica Knowles or Malese Jow! Visit their MySpace pages for fantastic music, too. Watch for book, Building the Band Brand: Becoming famous in the 21st Century. Thank you Cleveland, Detroit and my relatives in Buttevant and Jersey Isle.
Go to Shanica Knowles’ (Amber on Hannah Montana) MySpace page.
Would like to pat myself on the back that she’s listening to me, but she’s probably figured some marketing skills on her own.
For some time I have advocated bands limit their online music to 90 seconds (except for YouTube), and offer a “buy” option. Well, when you check out Knowles’ MySpace page, that’s what you get.
Ms.Knowles – you need to add a YouTube of “Can You Handle Me”. I realize the “official” video is probably in production, but this song is so hot you should get it up NOW. I also appreciated embedded videos before anyone else and downloads – hint, hint.
If listeners are expecting her cousin, Beyonce’s, sound – forget it. This talent belongs on Hollywood Records. You listening Bob Cavallo?
Sorry for the sound quality, but this is as priceless as those clips of those famous stars who tested for “Star Wars” in the ‘70s and didn’t make it.
