Happy birthday to duo who created a generation
Zack and Cody – still not legal
They spawned a generation. They turn 17 today. The reason we love them? They haven’t used those studio machines that make even the worst singers sound good to record a CD.

Miley Cyrus signs up for fourth season
Hannah Montana "on Deck"?
As reported here first, Cyrus is scheduled to begin filming “The Last Song” this month, with release due in January. From the Reporter, “As part of the deal, Cyrus will get a long hiatus to work on the feature ‘The Last Song,’ with production on the fourth season of ‘Hannah Montana’ slated to begin next year.”
It would appear that long hiatus will include a fall tour for Ms. Cyrus. Who is sponsoring that tour? Opening acts? Someone knows, as reported here, but no one is talking.
An interesting aspect from the Reporter, “The series will change settings next season, during which the Stewarts will grapple with saying goodbye to their beachfront Malibu home.” Since Disney is pushing its cruise line this summer, can we expect “Hannah Montana on Deck”? Don’t think so.
I have some solutions for grappling with saying goodbye to the Malibu home – mud slides, brush fires, earthquakes, Tommy Lee and Pam Anderson get back together and move in next door.
"‘That will provide the catalyst for wonderful new characters and further expand the storytelling opportunities,’ said Disney Channel Worldwide president Gary Marsh."
Looks like Emily Osment, Shanica Knowles and Mitchell Musso may be collecting unemployment with the rest of the nation. Or, as I said, the new characters are Dylan and Cole Sprouse – welcome to Hannah Montana on Deck!

Tell Vanessa Hudgens – Zac Efron keeps it up
Coining a new phrase for today’s toddlers – SECOND DECADE!

Weekend box office figures are out. Zac Efron’s been at it for five weeks. He may have tumbled all the way to number six, but taking in three and a half million for the weekend, or nearly $60-million total for five weeks, isn’t bad.
There’s a glut of Tween movies due soon, including a Harry Potter I predict will be the most successful of the year – we’ll see. Then, “I Love You Beth Cooper,” which will make Hayden Panettierre an even bigger star (Demi Moore ranking) and Bandslam with Vanessa Hudgens, Alyson Michalka, Lisa Kudrow (Friends) and I just heard David Bowie. Really?
Previously reported here how Tweens are setting history creating the highest box office receipts ever. Increased prices help, a hot summer and one of the largest homogeneous demographics in history. They will be eclipsed in 10 years – a decade from now - when the largest birth year in history, 2007, reaches Tween status. Wonder who their stars will be? Hopefully they’ll be following Zac and Vanessa as people watch Brad and Angelina today. Think – Hannah Montana will be the 21st Century’s Second Decade generation’s Britney Spears or Madonna!
Let me coin a new phrase – I coined the Zack and Cody generation for today’s Tweens. Now I will dub today’s toddlers – soon to be a greater economic force than Zack and Cody generation – the Second Decade!
Speaking of Hannah Montana the movie, it fell out of the Top 10, but brought in another $1.5-million for a total of $76-million. Yes, there will be a sequel – Hannah Montana: 18, Legal and Dangerous. Her and the director say no, but remember the phrase, “Money talks; bull…. walks.”

Zack and Cody generation
For years I’ve been calling Tweens “the Zack and Cody generation.” With the popularity of Ms. $400,000 per day Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers, I thought I was wrong.
The fantastic part is Zack and Cody justified my faith by taking the 2009 Kids’ Choice Award for best TV actor. Can you name the billionaire twin TV actors/actresses who are Zack & Cody’s managers?
It is time for the Zack and Cody generation!
