Holiday time means breakups
Nick Jonas premiering new single
New band without brothers
Jonas has recruited members of Prince's former band. He will continue to appear in ABC's Jonas Brother TV show, plus J.O.N.A.S., which is scheduled to appear sometime in 2010. He will also tour in the spring with The Administration - not the Jonas Brothers.
A CD by the same name as the single is due out Feb. 2, songs reportedly include a remake of Jonas Brothers Tonight. Other tentative titles include, The Rose Garden, Olive & An Arrow, Conspiracy Theory and State of Emergency.

Torn between Kelly Osbourne and Donny Osmond
Never watched Dancing with the Stars
Tough choice
Just found out two of the four finalists are Kelly Osbourne and Donny Osmond.
Fell in love with Kelly Osbourne's voice from the very first note of her Shut Up CD, later renamed Changes. She was Tween Music before the genre existed.
I loved Donny for being the first guy to show his pubic hair on the cover of Rolling Stone. Wait, that was David Cassidy. I've always gotten them confused. Way back in the '70s Alice Cooper sang Department of Youth from Welcome to My Nightmare. Live he would sing, We've got the power, and who gave it to you - Donnie (yes, it was Donnie, not Donny back then - remember Donnie & Marie?) Osmond, Donnie Osmond.

How Summit Entertainment and Hollywood Records should debut Bandslam on
Good Morning America
ABC Television is owned by Disney. Hollywood Records is the Disney stars’ stable or record label.
ABC’s Good Morning America has built the careers of Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus and more on its Friday morning shows.
Unfortunately Kenny Chesney is scheduled for Aug. 14 and American Idiot stars for this Friday.
Too bad Chesney can’t call in sick. I had a wonderful idea for Summit Entertainment.
The hosts have a movie screen up, and they show a one minute clip of Bandslam, ending with Lisa Kudrow and the audience screaming. Then, right as the horns launch, the entire Bandslam band, with Alyson Michalka on guitar freeing Vanessa Hudgens to do her famous pose offs, jumps through the screen in a live performance – the full version, of Everything I Own.
I think it’d be terrific marketing and it hasn’t been done in quite some time.
Announcers end with, "Bandslam opens today." No talking to the stars. That’s how the show ends.
To be REALLY effective, as the movie screen falls to reveal drummer, etc., it is the Bandslam movie backdrop! Of course the band is dressed in what they wore in the movie.

Breakout by Miley Cyrus
Reviewing the CD, Cyrus’ voice breaks in many spots, revealing she is 15. Yet the production is lavish. Was ready to laugh at “Girls Just Want to Have Fun,” originally done in a previous century by Cindy Lauper. The strings and drums make it a terrific performance. This is the secret to the whole CD, and everything else coming out of the Disney stable – outstanding production. Disney leads the music industry towards the start of the 21st Century’s second decade.
