Tomorrow Billboard comes out with another Top 200 CD (albums) report. Arcane Fire will head that chart. It is the following week that will be exciting. Disney gets another #1 hit with Camp Rock 2 The Final Jam. If only the fortune tellers who give me this information had the lottery numbers.

Orianthi: Overnight sensation
Three years in the making
21st Century Eddie Van Halen?
She's an overnight sensation being on American Idol last night. According to You peaked at #17 on Billboard's Hot 100, this week #18. Ryan Seabiscuit calls her one of rocks newest pioneers.
Orianthi started earlier than 2007. I became familiar because of the Bratz soundtracks (one of the best and the movie had Malese Jow and fellow Sonoran desert inhabitant Chelsea Staub). The same year as Bratz, she had a CD Violet Journey that is probably as rare as Jonas Brothers' It's About Time.
Thought the hot woman in We Are The World 25 was Colbie Calliat. Now need to go back and see if it was Orianthi. Gotta love a woman who has a custom made 24-fret Paul Reed Smith guitar and names it (Pepper - same as my first dog)!

The same day Selena Gomez plays Tempe, Arizona, and yes, her PR team has ignored all requests from this blog, you can catch the final 2009 show of the Jonas Brothers tour in San Juan, P.R. Maybe the last show ever with Nick.
While you're at it, enjoy a Major League Beisbol (Baseball) game, watching your favorite U.S. diamond stars.
On Dec. 13, JBs play the Coliseo, or Coliseum, of San Juan. Playoffs for the Puerto Rican league is Dec. 11.
The JBs love sports. Maybe they'll be smart enough to play in a MLB game while in Puerto Rico. Say hi to my friends Mario & Pieto, Joe, Kevin & Nick. Went to college with Mario.

New band without brothers
Holidays have traditionally been a time for breakups. Nick Jonas is breaking up with his brothers - at least as far as concerts and music are concerned. He's formed a new band, The Administration, that will release its first single, Who I Am, Dec. 3, the day after performing it on the Grammy nominations Dec. 2.
Jonas has recruited members of Prince's former band. He will continue to appear in ABC's Jonas Brother TV show, plus J.O.N.A.S., which is scheduled to appear sometime in 2010. He will also tour in the spring with The Administration - not the Jonas Brothers.
A CD by the same name as the single is due out Feb. 2, songs reportedly include a remake of Jonas Brothers Tonight. Other tentative titles include, The Rose Garden, Olive & An Arrow, Conspiracy Theory and State of Emergency.

Ouch, crash, bang
Sound of Honor Society falling
164 slots second week on charts
Caught - and walked out on - Honor Society at Disney's D23 Expo. So bad they couldn't even lip-synch. Caught the videos on YouTube of them opening for the Jonas Brothers. Same deal.
Last week they debuted at #18 on the Billboard charts. May be the fastest tumble on record, this week at #182, falling 164. Ouch. Goes to show, being the first band on the Jonas label doesn't help much. Also, there's that little identity crisis when you search for them and come up with educated students.
