Ironically Mr. Jonas visits Arizona when it is spring break. If he were old enough, he could catch comedian Chelsea Handler. He can watch the Ostrich Festival running nearly two decades (has music); the Renaissance Festival, professional bull riding, Aloha Festival. Flogging Molly will be here Wednesday. Both Black Eyed Peas and Paul McCartney the same week as WWE Wrestlemania. Tonight you could catch the Rhythm Room All Stars, probably best blues band in the world - oops, there's that age thing again. If this strikes you, there's something called the Samurai Comic Anime Fest. Drunk Otis plays Joe's Grotto on St. Pat's - dang, that age thing again. Sevendust are here tomorrow, or catch a Suns home game.

Of course, you may believe there's nothing to do in the desert and already be headed back to Los Angeles or Texas - oh, did you visit (your) grandma in southwest Phoenix while you were here, young man?

You could always run into Mohammad Ali, as I did two weeks ago. Nils Lofgren of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, all of Dokken, Dave Mustaine, Sam Moore of Sam & Dave, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer, Malcolm in the Middle's Frankie Muniz. Maybe not enough for you to do in the desert.

Holiday time means breakups Nick Jonas premiering new single New band without brothers

Holidays have traditionally been a time for breakups. Nick Jonas is breaking up with his brothers - at least as far as concerts and music are concerned. He's formed a new band, The Administration, that will release its first single, Who I Am, Dec. 3, the day after performing it on the Grammy nominations Dec. 2.

Jonas has recruited members of Prince's former band. He will continue to appear in ABC's Jonas Brother TV show, plus J.O.N.A.S., which is scheduled to appear sometime in 2010. He will also tour in the spring with The Administration - not the Jonas Brothers.

A CD by the same name as the single is due out Feb. 2, songs reportedly include a remake of Jonas Brothers Tonight. Other tentative titles include, The Rose Garden, Olive & An Arrow, Conspiracy Theory and State of Emergency.

The $400,000 per day teenager

Let’s face it, 2008 was a bad year economically for everyone. In 2007, Miley Cyrus averaged $400,000 per day with CD sales, a Walmart deal, a tour, and Hannah Montana TV show.

2008 was not as lucrative for Cyrus. She could have been in a funk due to breaking up with Nick Jonas. Alas, an eye-candy boy-toy helped ease that situation. All she had was a #1 CD, Breakout, which didn’t even reach 400,000 first week sales and did not break Mariah Carey’s record. She also had Bolt, a movie that flopped, and was stiffed for a return to High School Musical 3. She did have racy photos in Vanity Fair.

If early material released from Hannah Montana The Movie is any indication, it should re-ignite her career – and earning power. Release date as of now is set for April 10, 2009. Cyrus had many stars chasing after her earning power fame in 2008. Jonas Brothers lead the pack, second - Taylor Swift, trailing was Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. Looks like Hannah’s back in 2009. I will predict a tour, too. Bet it will be Lovato as the opening act.

You heard it here first - biggest first weekend sales in Disney history. That's my prediction!
